For my first ever giveaway*, I am honored and humbled to offer a ticket to the September 26th event from The Montclair International Film Festival: Pray the Devil Back to Hell. Following the film, there will be a question and answer session with filmmakers Abigail Disney and Gini Reticker. The US television premiere will be in October on PBS, but you can see it on the big screen weeks before right here in Montclair, NJ!

Pray the Devil Back to Hell is the astonishing story of the Liberian women who took on the warlords and regime of dictator Charles Taylor in the midst of a brutal civil war and won a once unimaginable peace for their shattered country in 2003. Among the women featured is Leymah Gbowee, the leader of the Liberian women’s peace movement. Gbowee is based in Accra, Ghana, where she is executive director of the Women Peace and Security Network Africa. Her book, Mighty Be Our Powers: How Sisterhood, Prayer, and Sex Changed a Nation at War, with Carol Mithers will be published in September 2011 by Beast Books.

It’s the inaugural year for the film festival. They are doing a great job getting amazing films shown – months before the actual festival. Go figure. Check out the Kidz Shortz page on the website – you could advertise it on RandomHandprints as a 4th -12th grade craft.
