There won’t be anything particularly insightful or exciting on this weblog. I had a locally popular neighborhood site when I lived in the “bloggiest” borough, but I don’t have the energy to keep that up. And where I live now doesn’t have the same access to building violations, interesting street food, kooky neighbors, and car service antics as my previous neighborhood did. I am learning, though, that there are most of these things going on. It’s just harder to see and hear them without a shared wall and from a car.
That said, I’ve been feeling like there’s so much going on and so many voices blabbing away that I just want to jump onto the bandwagon and dance to Nena’s “99 Luftbalons” along with everyone else.
*Since so many have asked: Mutterschwester is the German translation of my favorite character in Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” – Mother Sister. Although, as some have speculated, you can take it as related to muttering about various subjects if you want.
Welcome to New Jersey. Former Brooklynite? Me too. It’s gets better.
Haha! Welcome to my world!
Hi. I’m enjoying your blog! I happened upon your page through the magic of Google (enter “Montclair” and “graphic novel” and up pops your site). I was hoping to learn more about the brief reference you made to a Montclair resident who has a graphic novel in the works. I write about comic book/graphic creators across northern New Jersey for a newspaper and would love to find out more. Most papers do not cover comic books. Frankly, they rarely have anyone on staff who knows anything about them. So I am on a min-crusade to get the word out about these talented men and women who create them.
I’ll be sure to direct him to this comment, and I’ll share your info with him if he’s game. Thank you so much for stopping by! Viva Graphic Novels!

Lovely to meet you, and I want to know more about who this very kind, encouraging woman is.
It’s a pleasure, and thank you for all your kindness to me, my posts, and my tweets.
Really.
xo
I’d like to meet this kind, encouraging woman too. Where is she? 😉
Thank you for stopping in, Empress.
I just love your title of “Not a Mommy Blog, but I am a Mom.” That captures it all. Looking forward to reading more.
Thanks! I am one of those who doesn’t actually mind the Mommy Blogger title (Shock! Horror!), because I don’t mind being called Mommy. 🙂 However, the blog is not about my kids exclusively, and in fact started as a neighborhood therapy blog. Thanks for mentioning it!
Thanks for stopping by and following my blog. I hope you enjoy it. BTW, I have a link to your Christmas shopping post that will appear on my post tomorrow, 12-18-2012.
