Glad I Saw It: Love Note

My kids love writing notes and cards to anyone and everyone. Rainy day? Let’s write a card to Nana and Grampy! Twenty minutes left until dinner? Write a note to your friend at school! Last minute cancellation of a playdate? Let’s create fancy invitations for next time!  All we need is paper (even smoothed out brown paper bags) and some sort of writing implement — doesn’t matter what kind. Stickers are a special treat. And WOW! can you feel the excitement when we take out the stamps.

Lately, R2-D2 and Harry Potter have been making repeated appearances in the cards, but once in a while something more original pops up. This card below is what happened when my 4-year-old wrote a love note to a classmate. “They’re balloons, Mama!”

  1. This made me smile. I’m glad you saw it, too.

  2. Very happy balloons, too!

Follow-up reaction from the classmate? I’m guessing they saw balloons, too.

  4. Classmate would have seen balloons, adults not so much.
