Glad I Saw It: Baby Dragon

This is the newest member of our family. Isn’t she cute?  We found her at Richfield Farms in Clifton. We’re taking care of our neighbor’s gerbil hamster this week, and it has reinforced my belief that stone pets make the best pets – so I’m happy with this sleeping dragon. I had to convince the kids that a dragon was better than a stone squirrel or statue of a nice man with a lamb. After all, I’ve had an affinity for dragon-lore since I was a pre-teen. It’s about time I got one in my garden!  Not to worry if you want one too; we left several dragons at Richfield Farms!

So now we have a gnome, a couple of colorful snails, a beetle, a bird whose wings flap, and a dragon. Maybe soon we’ll have to add a metal chicken or a nice flamingo.

  1. I vote for the metal chicken! I’m with you sister – rock pets are it. If I knew where Richfield Farms was (from Chicago), I’d run over and get myself one of your leftover dragons!

  2. Oh my gosh, I totally have a stone squirrel that the kids picked out. But really, now it’s a guinea pig because the tail broke off. I’m lobbying for a dragon next time because it’s adorable. Ellen
