Don’t Let the Vandals Get You Down

** Updated Photo Below! **

I will readily admit that when I saw the replacement scarecrow below, I said “Yay!”  And it wasn’t for the kids’ benefit; I was alone.  It makes me happy when people don’t get too bogged down by the nastiness, no matter what form it may take.   The owners of the still missing Jeremiah the Scarecrow have also decorated with colorful eggs hanging from their street-side bushes.

Update: For Easter 2011, she was restored to full, flowery bunnyhood.

that *is* nice. did you hear about the guy who had thousands of dollars of halloween decorations, got vandalized, and just took everything down and is never doing it again? had been a neighborhood tradition. forget what town, but somewhere nearby.

Just found your post on my bunny scarecrow – thank you! She’s been through a lot in 20 years – started out as a boy, had her head and her body stolen numerous times, was reincarnated by anonymous donors several times, was set on fire, was found lounging on a neighbor’s porch by the cops etc. We always dress her up again!
