Now, granted, they read the television listings and the comics. But isn’t that the sort of thing preschoolers are supposed to read? Print *is* relevant! Print is not dead. At least not in this iPad-less house.

Good for them! One of my favorite parts of the Sunday paper – even now is reading the funnies! And they are reading!
I still read them too – I love the comics. I don’t get Prince Valiant, but I love Broomhilda and even Momma. I still miss Cathy. Where did she go??

I figure they’ll learn techie stuff in about two minutes when they’re older. But they should learn what newsprint feels like before it disappears…forever!
Good for them & you! I can tell you as a teacher, that making reading fun, and letting them select (brace yourself for Captain Underpants) what interests them will go a long way.
Thank you for the warnings…Our kids don’t have a choice: English teacher Mama and Book Editor Papa. They get it from both sides. Doomed!
